LensSentinel is an on-device privacy inspection assistant for iPhone. It combines five tools to help you inspect a hotel room, rental, office, or other temporary space for items that may deserve a closer look.
LensSentinel provides observations and inspection guidance. It cannot confirm that a space is safe, identify every hidden device, or determine that a detected signal or reflection is a camera.
Uses the rear camera and flashlight to help you visually inspect reflections from objects such as smoke detectors, clocks, outlets, televisions, and mirrors. Change your viewing angle slowly and compare reflections from the same object.
Reflections can come from ordinary glass, polished metal, plastic, or other harmless surfaces. LensSentinel does not automatically identify a reflection as a camera lens.
Uses the rear camera to help you observe persistent bright regions in a darker room. Move the phone slowly and inspect a bright region from multiple angles.
Bright regions may be caused by reflections, visible light, image-processing effects, or ordinary electronic devices. A bright region is not proof of a hidden camera.
Looks for Bonjour services that are visible on the Wi-Fi network currently connected to your iPhone. A hotel or public network may isolate connected devices, so an empty result does not mean that no other devices are present.
LensSentinel cannot discover devices that are offline, use a separate network, do not advertise a visible service, or are hidden by network isolation.
